dh6822: Does this actually get you forgotten souls? You don't get those by salvaging dropped loot so I'm not sure how to farm souls using this method. I'll try it out in a little bit.
*edit - I didn't see any souls but this is definitely working for me. I started with about 30s left in the helltide timer and it is now 15 minutes after the next helltide started (so 20 minutes after the last helltide ended). Interestingly enough even though the previous helltide ended I've been getting bombarded with hellfire the whole time. I'm paragon 253 and have gotten about 3 'bars' of experience to the next level while standing here. Obviously this won't be efficient especially as paragon increases, but you can definitely go afk with this. I am getting legendary drops, runes, and gem fragments, along with other basic mats.
**edit - I'd guess this is getting about 160m xp an hour. Maybe a little more.

simongentry: elites only spawn during a hell tide in the area… when the hell tide finishes the mobs still come but no elites like at the end. if you stay there for 4 hours - yup i did… the hell tide comes back around to you and it starts to spawn elites and drops more loot.
yb554: Ok, tried it. Mobs do spawn infinitely but you barely get elites. I spent seven minutes in there without a drop. I don't see using this method. Maybe except for a hard core alt to level it quickly to 30. Any higher and I'd probably die since i would be under geared
ashton451: That happened to me last season and I got bored. I was just waiting for the mini hoard of demons just possibly just give me a chest of weapons or something at the time I was in torment 1 with crappy everything
luv2build345: I accidentally did this the other day and about 3-4 minutes in I realized the helltide was over and it was still going... some rando came along after about 10 minutes and we kept it going for probably another 15-20 minutes. It was exhausting lol. went from paragon 208 to 218?
andoiopkors647: just tried this on T2 (bec necro minioins) activated the spire 20secs before event ends. everything disappeared when event ends
Mandingo_: i checked how long it normally last so i can time it right and its 90 seconds for my death trap rogue, tried the bug and didnt work for me, done it twice and the tower banished as the helltide timer is zero.
