Diablo 4 BIG Changes Coming in Season 10 New Expansion Exclusive Preview ...

Jul 31 2025

PJMiaga: Probably unpopular opinion but I’d love to see class sets from D3 make a comeback.
mattmccollum6103: Reworking the skill tree sounds good in theory but reality has proven they will need 9 seasons to get the bugs out of it!
karihotakainen5210: Yes, the randomness in crafting mythic uniques is terrible! Needs to be changed!
SlashingMike: I wonder if this problem would have been solved with class sets? Make 2 or 3 class sets per class. Each plays different, each feels stupid OP, gives player power fantasy. Not everyone would have to use the same thing, could add variety and reduce the need for mythic uniques. You choose necro and it wasn't the "meta" build, but your set made you feel just as powerful, that would be great and could increase player choice. Reduce macrotransactions, add rewards to the game. Make the players feel like they are the focus.
Sure0Foot: Raxx had a really great, really poignant thought: if you take X number of creators and say "Make a build for This Class, focusing on This Skill", then you're going to get ONE BUILD (maybe with very slight variations) regardless of how big X is. His other great point was that HIS (and this is him) reason for playing ARPGs is the dopamine hit when a potentially great item drops. This doesn't happen in D4 (for him), like at all.
stevenvegh7964: The real problems with the game:

Tempering is a system that makes people want to quit. Imagine getting a 4 GA item that is bricked by Tempering? There was no reason to restrict this to 1 scroll refresh only. It’s bad enough that it’s rng on top of rng, and that we need to farm an item to get refreshes. Master working is also tiring but at least it’s unlimited retries.
Most lair bosses suck in that they are just annoying to fight. Multiple immune phases does not make for fun gameplay. People don’t buy husks just because Belial has the best loot, it’s because you can kill him without immune phases. Nobody wants to fight Betrayer or Andariel, nobody.

And yes, as mentioned once you are geared the Pit is the only means of continuing to push and challenge yourself in the end game and the end of a pit never feels all that rewarding aside from the intrinsic pride in achieving a PR. Would love to see more options for escalating content, and for those escalations to reward you better and better as you go.
Hellfire918: Am I the only one that wants to see Set Items return, Set Items were the things we boost of builds with with Legendries being the fun & wild buffs. Instead it feels like the Diablo Franchise is on it's BFA/Shadowlands Arc where there's no class identity & legendaries are useless items. Blizz balances everything based off how people like you guys play & off of Mythic Uniques 90% of the player base will never see but are 100% necessary to have to have "fun" in the game. Diablo 3 may have been cartoony but it was a hell of a lot more fun than what we have in Diablo 4 so far.
DDMJJJJ: The game need an end game, a very strong end game. That will challenge us, we need somewhere to use our power. Make a T5 where everything is much much more difficult also lock other events and challenges to only t5. Require 250 paragon to manage the mobs. You’re constantly hunted by the butcher in T5 and he pops up randomly, in town or in open world, U get no rest there. And so much more
TheMetal750: As a player who has just returned to the series after a good decade or so. I can tell you the game feels great. I feel alot ofnissuesbonly maybe pop up when you've played the game for hundreds if not thousands of hours already and mixed out multiple builds. I'm literally just hit level 50 on my first character and everything feels awesome. You feel the character grow and im learning the map and mechanics.
KyleSage35: The First Descendant has a feature in the core system were you can keep the current roll or take the new roll, THAT is the kind of system Diablo 4 NEEDS for the tempering system to ATLEAST alleviate a good chunk of the suffering.
rickn6923: So I just started playing when it went free on psn and I’ve really been enjoying it. Just got to level 50 and I’ve only cleared the first zone lol
michaelderouen8144: They need to make temprings less RNG. Let us pick the temporings we want but let the amount you recieve be the only rng part of it. So say the range is 90%-110% and you get 7 trys, on the last try you can decide if you are happy with the 105% or want to risk the last try to get the 110% or risk getting a 90%. I'm sick of spending all 7 trys and getting the 2 of the 3 that i will never need. Calling bullshit on their response of "we do not weight the chances of getting the meta temporings lower than the non meta".
russelljackson8153: Season 8 also sucked. Until the devs improve Tempering/Masterworking, every season is going to drop off with fatigue over trying to perfect gear and losing to House Odds.
aaronpate7056: If they don't put in master working checkpoints, it will show that they actually do not care about this game.
Silentsouls: I want mythic uniques, i dislike boss runs, the mechanics are crap.
and they just drop so rarely, i wonder if they are even in the game.
Besides to get 1 attempt, you need boss materials.
It deletes all motivation i have for the season.
WantedDeaDorAIive: Atleast in my mind, the biggest problem with D4 is the fixed endpoint it has. At the start of the season, there is always a "best" build for each class you try to get, and thats the end of it.
They made no improvements in that regard. I did play a Sorcerer thrice now (Start of the game, season 2, Season 5 and Season 9), and they did manage to smooth out the progression in S9 compared to what it was in S5. Ive also arrived in T1 now and did reach Paragon Level 110 so far, and im practically done with my build. Whats left now is to grind through the same repetitive activities over and over again to improve this build so that i can handle T2-4. The problem stems from the fact that nothing i do from now on will change. The build is functionally done, and what i have to do with it wont change.

Now, regarding the constructive part of constructive critiscism:
Im a member of the "D3 is/was a better game than D4" club. Having said that: Set items would be a fantastic way to add to the game. Why on earth does each season have to focus on one build? And why the hell does each "best" build from previous seasons needed to be nerfed to oblivion? Lightning Spear Sorc, despite its problems, was incredibly fun. I cant play that this season due to nerfs. Please think about this: Its 2025, and we are desinging games by taking away fun activies for the player ?
Right now, the game needs 2 seasons to be "fixed":
Season 1: Add a crapton of build options to the existing game. For Season 10, make it a goal that each class has 5-8 valid builds they can experiment with.
Season 2: For season 11, focus on the endgame activities. Those need a complete rebalancing in my mind. The amount of content is actually good, the team did a great job here. The problem that should be adressed here is the fact that RNG matters more than time investment. If your RNG is good, you get to play T4. If your RNG is bad, you dont get to play T4. Thats not the greatest of ideas. Why not design it in a way where each difficulty level corresponds to a step? T1 gives you ancestrals, T2 gives you uniques, T3 gives you access to mythic uniques, and T4 allows you to upgrade those?

Those are my 2 cents so far...
kyrosnow4173: not having a smithy at torment bosses really sucks. It takes me 100-200 runs just for 1 mythic unique to drop and its a big time waste to return to town, scrapt, go back and kill boss several times and repeat.
julianomendes9274: I admire their courage of be speaking a new expansion
vozrulz: I always feel like D3 has been a better way to approach seasons, that D4 should take. Having to go do a separate things for these powers is not fun. Considering grinds are already locked behind certain "end-game" activities. D3 had 1 major endgame activity and that was infinite, but also provided everything you wanted. D4 can have this in the pits, but nope, got to go do helltides, layer bosses, nightmare dungeons, special nightmare dungeons, undercity, hordes, whatever the season thing is. All for different things and its kinda dull and puts anyone off playing the game.

Why is there a limit to our power. Not just in an ARPG but a video game that we spend our spare time playing. Why are builds so mythic dependant now, Had a few seasons were I had to already be fully geared to even get to T4, which isn't right. I get the bosses, but not the torment itself.

I don't feel this game is casual friendly at all and that gets rid of the fun of it. Having to drop what you want to play cause you cant even do certain content is not fun, it needs so much done, but do feel that they should look at D3 as inspiration. As even if it started WAY worse then D4, it defo got better and quicker.
jettblade: I do agree that this particular season hasn't really been that good. I know the witch craft season had a lot of activities that some people didn't like but at least it was engaging the community. The strongrooms and escalating dungeons were a nice include but its not something that pooled all the players together. Those things were stuff that small groups worked on not large groups like the special zones. Even the Belial season had something that the community worked towards rather than small groups. I do think the seasons should be open like that that pulls people together rather than funnel them into small groups off on their own. I think that they need to rework Helltides, World Bosses, and possibly the PVP zones to have more varied events and actually good rewards. Seriously we're in season 9 and still only have 3 world bosses that give meh rewards at best. I think building up zone events is the direction they need to be heading.
tonycarpenter-Makzimia: I feel the largest issue continuing to be lack of internal testing. We were promised things like higher quality ranges based on a GA star set, total BS. Seen a number of 3 star GA items with lowest rolls. The hunt in game frankly has gotten worse over time. I’ve rolled 3 chars so far this season and don’t feel inclined to play much following reaching end of season journey. Too much chasing nothing. As for trade, I have never and will never bother.
Ogmos-o6u: I run druid and ngl when i stand next to a buddy of mine who absolutely loves his necromancer he seems to really suffer damage wise while i merely walk into a room pass a stray fart walk out and everything gets flattened. It definitely is noticeable in diablo 4 that class's suffer from some form of specialization whether that be single boss slaying or absolute crowd crushing. Ive also noticed diablo 4 is mainly only pulling from both diablo 2 and 3 for ideas, artificers pit is just nephelam rifts and the Paragon glyphs are just legendary gems from 3 with how completing the rift is required to rank em. I see some new things but there's far more i recognize from the older ones that they just gave a new appearance for
TheSwamper: Can you tell us the nature of the presentation? Was it just a discussion? Were there temporary pictures of screens? Actual video?
illeism9119: Here's hoping season 10 ends the beta testing phase
alexschultz4272: How about fixing the same bugs that show up every season? The goblin event has begun, and I have been crashing constantly. D4 has run out of memory, same exact issue as every other season, yet they NEVER FIX IT.
zoompogi2394: y'all have been wishing and hoping this game will be fixed for more than 2 years now lol. the game is a mess. they need Diablo 5 immediately
