Diablo 4 Season 11 The Good, The Bad What to improve

Oct 31 2025

recksters54: I was enjoying S10, but the S11 PTR killed my interest in the game, again.
Toolookanu: SEASON 11 and still no ENDGAME -
King_Kai-FP: Season of playing a different game
VRNilaGERila_2: Rob, I get what you’re saying, but I think the entire direction they’re taking with Sanctification, Tempering, and Masterworking needs to be rethought. They should revert these changes and start over with a clearer focus on what actually makes Diablo 4 enjoyable to build around.

Sanctification isn’t an improvement, it’s a shift away from deliberate buildcrafting toward pure gambling. Systems like this turn progression into luck-based chaos instead of player-driven growth. I don’t want a slamming gear system unless it’s determinative and consistent. Random chance should never define endgame crafting.

Tempering and Masterworking changes also feel like steps backward. They were already solid frameworks that just needed refinement and safeguards against bricking items. Now the process feels overcomplicated, grindy, and more luck dependent than ever. It’s not a better version, it’s a slower slot machine.

The changes to armor, resistances, and Fortify are equally concerning. They strip away depth and clarity instead of improving balance. The defensive layers in Diablo 4 are already fragile and inconsistent, and this rework doesn’t fix that, it just replaces one form of imbalance with another.

People keep saying just try it first, but many of us have played systems like this before and they’re not fun. They turn itemization into gambling instead of mastery. That might work in Path of Exile, but Diablo 4 was never supposed to be a casino.

The developers need to stop doubling down on randomization as a core philosophy. They need to rebuild around player agency, predictable progression, and systems that reward understanding, not luck.
vyktorzhuravlev8304: It's amazing how stupid the Diablo 4's developers are. How can they rework systems and at the same time manage not only not to recycle them completely, but also create new problems.
Jdiroe: Here’s what would change to make Season 11 truly shine:

1. Tempering: Give us two affixes instead of one it adds more depth and build creativity.
2. Masterworking: Revert it to the previous version and let us step back (e.g., from 12/12 → 8/12) when resetting instead of starting over completely.
3. Sanctification: Needs a full rework. Introduce class specific powers, passives, or new aspects, and turn Sanctification into a permanent crafting system for Chaos Uniques.
4. Difficulty Scaling: Improve the progression between Torment tiers, especially the jump into Torment IV — it feels too punishing and uneven.
5. Divine Gifts: Make them build-defining like Chaos perks — they should feel impactful, not filler.
6. Leaderboards: Add three separate boards to encourage diverse playstyles:
• Power → The Pit
• Speed → Undercity
• Survival → Infernal Hordes
7. Altars & Progression: Restore altar stats, passive skills, and paragon points for returning players who already completed them.

These changes would massively boost player excitement and interest for coming back for Season 11 imo
j4r0j4: and my response to Blizzard's changes is that I won't even turn on season 11
Wabbajack-t7p: Armor and res changes bad
1 temper bad
Mw rework bad
Sanctification total rng bad

Skip if not changed
Kain9407: The devs on this game should be f'ing embarrassed and need to be replaced completely.
Stroked302Mustang: Literally nothing in this season sounds enticing to me …
Kain9407: Somewhat controversial my ass...
GhosTTCG: —When can we get an ENDGAME that drops CLASS Based ARMOR Sets that ACTUALLY look amazing and aren’t micro transaction based???
jeff9495: so the season theme is either the vaal orb we don't recommend you use, or the season of the unrewarding pit that only top blasters will even engage in? They also nerfed a lot of the fun out of most builds this season. I loved the diablo franchise, but wtf is wrong with that team at blizzard.
kostistsiutras4373: my mans Rob here once again stayin optimistic over the absolutely cluelees devs and their F design choices
vincentkruk2144: one thing that should also get reworked is the Eom rune because the value that you can reduce your cooldown for 0.1 second every second is not noticeable at all
robbytherob: The major problem with season 11 is the introduction to the leaderboards and the heavy RNG nature of sanctification. The leaderboards will only serve as a reminder of how unlucky you are and how lucky others are. You could have the same exact build as someone else, but that extra GG sanctification hit will make a drastic difference
bradencluster4739: I totally agree with you on caps. Especially move speed and the way too confusing attack speed caps...
a.x.w: Yeah, sanctification has issues. We should at least be able to upgrade the imprinted aspect. Otherwise, we won't sanctify any item until we have the max aspect.
jasonbeere3433: I like season 10 a lot, I’m a casual player who comes home from work and plays 2 or 3 hours, I will not be paying season 11 at all.
Dikay89: It’s hard to see Sanctification as an optional feature, especially since we’re losing Chaos Perks and Chaos Armor from Season 10. Sanctification is the only significant power increase in Season 11, so not using it doesn’t really seem like an option. (If i don't miss anything)

I think outside of a season, this can totally be D4's variant of Vaal Orb (with further adjustments), but i find it hard to see it like that within the upcoming season.

Blizzard has received the feedback now—let’s see what they do with it.
Leith42: Good Stuff here Rob thanks! i agree 100% about the high tier pit. it feels pointless now. its not really more of a engaging challenge it just brings the brick wall sooner. no real need to manage health because you are usually not taking much damage or you are being blasted by 5 stacks of the same attack and insta-killed, and on top of being harder but not more interesting, it is less rewarding...
joescivic: Had fun in season 10, but once I saw that season 11 doesn't include chaos armor, I can only assume all the nice armor I farmed was for nothing. I don't really play eternal realm, but i like to keep some characters. Especially after trying to min/max all of them with the best of the best gear. But every time they make changes, it just means those characters' gear became obsolete, and I'll be deleting them.

I do not like working hard and spending all that time just for everything to be a waste in the end. So now, season 10 is done for me. Season 11, I will check it out, but i feel like it's just going to annoy me if I brick a mythic. I'll probably quit the moment it does. Lol.

And I say this as someone who has been no-lifing this game since it released. Played both betas because I am a huge fan of this game and the whole Diablo series. But there comes times when I feel enough is enough. It's really feeling that way now.
DrPhilsHairline: just a couple small quality of life changes needed, sell all button at the vendor, and have the pet pick up things like animus and herbs when you run by them. that would be huge.
michaelvriend3053: Rob, I’d love if you asked the devs on where they are at in terms of future development:

So far, we are kinda back where we started a year ago, they continue to talk about endgame but I see less endgame this season than the last two, builds are being defined by parameters they set vs allowing us the freedom to play them.

I’d really love if you asked them how lvl wise their developers are able to push in pit/torment/tower prior to seeing you and the other pro players come up w builds.

I can’t imagine they are play testing with different builds than we are playing and finding enjoyment.

I’m really hesistant to drop a bunch of hrs blasting into the new season to reach pit 90 / tower 90, and have nothing else to do after.
bullet6556: What happen to the challenge " kill 666 bloodmaiden in nahantu " when they remove the maiden?
