lughor82: I think it will be the Paladin/Templar, either as a class DLC or as part of a 2nd expansion Pre-Order Bundle.
The theme of the season is perfect for this class and the season start could be the 9th if the only new thing were the Chinese servers.

kb420ps: Next week is Christmas for ARPG fans. New D4 and POE2 seasons launch 14 hours apart. It's really simple. I'm either playing Paladin, or I'm playing Druid.
D2Mephisto: Remember that one time when they surprise launched PETS into the game that pick up materials for you? The pets were already in the game's code, but nobody knew (maybe data miners like wowhead knew? I can't remember that long ago all the detailsl), and they just had to flip a server-side switch, which they did directly after whatever it was. It was either after Gamescom or the Game Awards.
None of us had any idea pets were necessarily coming to the game, and if they were, when that might be. So it was definitely a nice surprise for players. I would imagine they have something similar to that queued up for the game awards this year. But I REALLY doubt it'll actually be the full Paladin class. Maybe it'll be something simpler, like you know how every class has Runes that allow other classes to use some of their spells? Like Que rune gives you Druid Earthen Bulwark, and Jah gives you Sorc teleport. Maybe they aren't giving us Paladins, but maybe they will give us the Paladin-skills runes a season early? Maybe those runes will be AURAS? Maybe I can be a Barbarian using Holy Fire aura this season?
To me, something like that is way more likely than actually getting the full Paladin class. I hope y'all keep your expectations low... to avoid disappointment.

mansoorhameed7075: For sure, they will announce expansion 2 at the awards, and preorders will be available, and they might make some other promotional stuff available at the start of season 11 to help push hype for expansion 2. Releasing a flail as a new weapon type (not just a mace transmog) makes sense. Obviously that would be something paladins could use, but theoretically, so could other classes, so it makes sense that could be the "shadow drop". It also makes a lot of sense that the expansion is coming sooner than much later because the last time they reworked the entire game like they are doing w season 11, it was in preparation for the first expansion. I wouldn't be surprised if expansion 2 comes not too long after the end of season 11 or 12, but I also see them extending the length of season 11 and 12.
