I Tried Diablo 4 After 2000 Hours in POE2 Honest Review

DiVaioLoLGameplay: Diablo IV is good to play until about 100 hours, its fun. Campaign is good, and simple build system, but the endgame content is very bad , boring. Everything is stat checking because many boss attacks are unavoidable, so u get in a loop of increasing difficulty just to clear mobs faster. Very good campaign worth the 40 euros i paid for it but at 100 hours it felt pointless to play more. But i think game better for casual playrs
cranknnutz: I think you're right about Diablo 4 builds being predetermined. Sure there are some choices to be made, but it's so obvious which is the most powerful or right choice it always just feels like you're doing what the game wants you to do. It's a big reason why I lose interest in the game so quickly each season. With that said, it's really not too different from PoE for a majority of players. In Diablo 4, Blizzard determines your build. In PoE, a content creator determines your build! At least in PoE those of us who like to think more for ourselves have the option to do so.
hognado4075: For me (with thousands of hours in D2, D3 and D4) the difference between Diablo 4 and Path of Exile 2 (also thousands of hours of POE1 and POE2) is: I can watch a movie while i semi pay attention to playing with D4.... but Path of Exile 2, this is a recipe for disaster. You have to pay total attention to what you are doing. From crafting your waystones to running them. Too many mods can cause you to die to a one shot if your only paying half attention. D4 = easy (good for potatoes, console players, normies and dads). Poe2 = complicated and can be tough (good for fans of ARPGs who look for challenging content). A big difference is end game. D4 = Once you hit 100, get all relevent Uber Uniques, and crafting completed, there is nothing to do but Greater Rifts (er... pits). Poe2 = once you get to a respectable 96 or so, the true grind begins. 97-100 is brutal and mostly un-achievable by most people. But it gives you something to do if you feel like persevering. End game is still a bit sparse but the promise of TONS of end game content in the future keeps the game relevent, while D4 has passed from relevence. Its old news. And i enjoy the current end game content but it needs more work for sure. POE2 is still a work in progress.

I give POE2 a B while reserving the right to give it an A once its 1.0 releases.

GravityDAD: The paragon board absolutely BLOWS and so does the end game loop, graphics and skills are wicked imo
lexus134: Bought the game at launch, never finished the campaign then got into POE2 and I'm 300 hours in and still loving it.
billthecanuck: i jump into d4 every season for a week or two, pick a build and level it up, grind to 250-260ish paragon and minmax the build, then logout until the next season. it's a fun week or two once every few months. my only annoyance with d4 is when d4 seasons overlap with poe and last epoch seasons/leagues. i'm sure it's on purpose but i wish they'd just stagger the releases more instead of overlapping and trying to get people to choose between the games... i want to play both but if i'm forced to choose between spending time on d4 or poe2 (like i have to choose next week) i'm going to choose poe2

drbrielis4511: The only thing I really dislike about POE2 is the price of the cosmetics. You can't tell me the armour set some extras is worth 60$.

Edit: Mind you in Warframe I can get roughly 1200 platinum for
60£. That's not to mention that things like heirloom packs are around 20£ (which come with 400 plat). AND you get discounts up to like 75% on plat purchases, and you also get discounts on in shop items.
Paul_Hardy: Calling POE2 a free to play game is disingenuous at best. It released into "paid early access" in 2024 and isn't going f2p until 2026. That's 2 years of "paid early access". Are we supposed to believe that people that are into ARPG's are going to wait 2 years and not just buy the "paid early access" version? Come on. I'm not a super hardcore ARPG player and even I bought the "paid early access". Let's be honest here, it's pay to play, going f2p in 2 years.
karimmouselli4408: Poe2 endgame sucks 7 characters deep and i still can't survive on jucied t15. Even after I follow guides to the letter. I even spen 500$ on 1 character just cuz I wanted it to work once but I couldn't. If u can't make it to the endgame it pretty much ruins the game. D4 was more fun but got boring fast. Poe2 fun but frustrating. It's annoying.

dexmagedan5530: I had a max caster and werebear in d4 so about 80 hours but in poe2 i have over 500 hours theres just way way way more build diversity.
