feldon27: If the purpose of the masterworking and tempering changes is to reduce player power by 90% then They should just say that. But the claim that they changed tempering and masterworking to what the community was asking for is comically absurd as none of us asked for anything like this. We wanted to be able to roll back masterworking one phase at a time and for them to fix the streakiness in tempering that gives us the same affix five times in a row. That's it.
Instead they've rolled back masterworking to basically what it was at the launch of the game and now we have to chase four affixes on items. I have never ended a season with more than one or two items with 2 preferred GAs. Now I'll be lucky to end a season with all items that have one preferred GA.
1337GigaChad: "If it ain't broke, iterate until it is"
-Blizzard
cryotimber: "Completely optional and not likely to benefit you" WHAT A SMART THING TO MAKE THE SEASONAL MECHANIC
Twisted0614: An "optional mechanic that is likely not to benefit you" shouldn't be the season THEME
garethg2501: It's hilarious putting the poe1 season details next to d4's, the contrast in scope, quality and polish is blatantly obvious. Blizzard should be ashamed
GDub356: The amount of back in forth with D4 just shows you there is nobody on the team who is leading the “vision” of the game… because there isn’t one. This game has been for two years and I still wouldn’t consider anything about it “stable” when it comes to content.
sepheul: Sadly is nothing to cheer for.. look at what POE is bringing.. putting D4 to shame with 2 games, twice the work... honestly.. Blizzard need to change their entire D4 developer team
kurtnordli1381: In my opinion when its comes to ARPG'S like Diablo people want to feel powerful they want to have excitement when creating there builds by seeing and feeling meaningful changes..... Most of the changes that are happening in season 11 will feel like Blizzard is trying to take player power away, we might as well just call season 11 "Season Of The Nerfs".... When it comes to are characters and there builds blizzard seems to be making it so every class only has 1 build that can do T4 and end game content, this takes all the fun out of the game there should be variation in the end game when it comes to builds so people don't get bored of playing 1 build for the entirety of there end game experience.... This might even make it so people don't want to play multiple characters because of how much of a chore it is to get a new character levelled up and end game ready for T4 and pit it will be way to much of a grind. It seems to me like blizzard went overboard and took to much player power away.
Egzekost88: These fundamental mechanic changes (again) kinda extinguished my will to play this game, shame cause I think S10 was really fun to play
R2yzor: So in short leveling is much worse because of no skills points, masterworking requires more resources and more useless clicks, tempering is one 1 affix and santification is a mechanic casuals will never touch.
Have I missed something to be exited about in the next season?
knowmatter5503: The problem with sanctification is it’s too hard to find items worth doing it to.
The average player is not going to have 5 of the same mythic or 5 awesome legendary helms with the correct affixes and desirable GA to “slam” or gamble with.
They’ll spend their entire season finding 1, and they brick it they’ll just stop playing.
Gitum: Personally, I’m not a fan of many of the recent changes. The new masterworking system feels dull. It’s a massive character nerf that also kills build diversity. Pairing that with a monster buff seems like a bold and questionable move.
Sanctification is another issue. It’s going to push players to constantly sanctify every halfway decent item in hopes of landing some god-tier dual aspect combo. Meanwhile, Torment 4 is now out of reach for a huge number of low and mid-tier builds that previously relied on strong seasonal powers to stay viable.
Adding a fourth random affix on gear isn’t much of a consolation. It’s generally worse than having a second temper. And the level 1–60 journey feels ridiculous when I can gain eight or more levels at once just by spawning and killing Azmodan.
It’s tough watching the game go from the incredible build diversity of Season 10 to what looks like a much more restrictive meta in Season 11, where only a handful of overpowered builds will shine. For ten seasons, Blizzard has cultivated this game for a casual audience, and now they’re suddenly trying to pivot toward hardcore grinders. The problem is, most of those hardcore players are already deep into PoE 2 or Last Epoch.
If Blizzard’s goal is to win them back, I doubt this will do it. Instead, it risks alienating the casual audience that’s been holding the game up until now.
JeffreySayre: Blizzard needs new developers.
jgassman: Yes, the D4 team is making another colossal mistake. Most if not all the people who were around for the season 1 debacle (and subsequent Sorc rework) are gone. This crop has no memory or institutional knowledge of what happened there, and they're about to do it again, after the best season D4 ever had imo. And them telling us that we asked for these masterworking changes is sucha slap in the face to the loyal players who've been around since the beginning. I'm really starting not to trust them. When they say "We received feedback that
paullo1846: 12月12日见 means ''See you on the 12th of December.''
HelennaRose: Corporate greed is making millions of us gamers sad
Steph1: Last Epoch: it’s been a fun ride
razalaas441: toughness rating is a joke. keep the armor and resist % as it was. balance the game better
blakerackley8874: Oh boy, China just keeps showing us what a free society they are.
Roysphotos8: Brign chaos armor back!
Rahru: Here's to hoping the D4 devs are putting their foot down on the difficulty adjustments. Changing the game constantly based on the whims of the community has been a disaster so far.
edgezero1557: Blizzard is so full of themselves they refuse to even embrace what works for other ARPGs.
Yasharvl: I used to follow Rhykker for D3 and D4 news (from 2016), but I've only been coming here lately to hear about PoE and other games.
hannesdoerfler: No amount of season content can fix core problems like trash itemization. Exactly like it was with D3.
hotpancakes9814: Man it’s crazy what path of exile does each league. Wish Diablo can get to that point.
ryancparker: The new D4 masterworking, defenses, and sanctification system sounds fucking stupid. Why are they doing all this rather than designing better dungeons and boss fights? Why create a system that requires tons of grinding for a 1 in 20 chance for an optimal outcome or start over from scratch?
Messaging isn’t the problem here. This will be the last season I play D4 if this is the direction the developers are taking. I’m not the only one. Blizzard is about to shit out their player base.
brianv1981: As a new Diablo player (started midway through season 9) this next season may drive me away.
It just feels like to much is changing and that I'm paying to beta test...
