missmagickx: In all seriousness, this must’ve taken so much work omg
drdynanite: Thank you and all other involved maxroll guys for your service gathering this statistics. It's important to see actual data to evaluate a system. I've seen a surprisingly negative reaction to this system from certain part of D4 community, and seeing how it actually works and checking out potential outcomes and their respective chances really showed that all the fear mongering and criticism to sanctification are just unreasonable. Just play it smart and always have a replacement. I'm excited for S11 and hope that sanctification will be added to the base game at some point.
stephenreyes7072: I’m even more concerned after this video. The system is so much worse than I could have imagined…it’s a super charged gamba system that is tailored to streamers or the unemployed who play 6-8 hours a day to accumulate multiples of ideal gear pieces. So, of course you’re happy Bio, because now the game is not super boring or redundant to stream 8 hours a day. You can sanctify all your multiple and pick the cream of the crop, meanwhile normal gamers will be stuck with their scuffed gear until RNG blesses them with a replacement (which won’t happen unless investing 50-70 hours a week or the RNG outliers who get extremely lucky)
Filiral: I like the risk with it - know not everyone is gonna like it, but feels like it would be fun when I’m nearing the end of my time on a season or character just hit the sanctify gamble and see if it’s time to keep going or find something else to do.
ScottiesFrenchiesandFriends: This is the most in depth (and therefore most helpful to me) explanation of the new Sanctify system I have seen. Thanks for the time and effort you put into it. I love the math.
emdmao1: This sounds way better than others have been making out to be. Thanks Mac
irishhawk1: 800...Yer doin da lawd's werk!
epicexx5114: Your hard work is much appreciated sir
maxmustermann3938: To be fair, technically the additional aspect can be a brick, because it could give you an aspect that ruins how your build works. There are some niche examples for that where certain aspects just can't be used with a build due to strange interactions or because they work against the build in a way. Think getting Juggernaut or Metamorphosis when you're doing a build centered around evading a lot.
Bowen_Landry: keep yapping. it's always useful. That being said, I won't be using my main gear for this .copies only lol. That's what I learned from my years of playing black desert online. A game where your gear can downgrade if you fail, or if it's an accessory , it will quite literally blow up and leave you with nothing lol
lunasilencia7185: Thanks for your dedication to the necro community Mac.
nathanielalfaro3456: Thanks for the breakdown. I love your optimism over bricking gear :) I have bricked many a gear in other games, but in those games gear is easier to find/trade for. I will not be risking gear, especially mythics, unless it is much easier to obtain.
ImTeekay-choom: you are a mad man, which is why i like watching your content! you are a gem to this community!
a.x.w: Fun fact, whenever sanctification rolls to add a GA, it can hit a stat that already was GA, e.g. from master working.
klumze9911: Basically S10 was chaos armor and S11 is going to be armor that can be chaos.
carlmalheim7161: I think you should at least be able to add the same aspect on the item for when you get a higher roll.
jasonbonadio8870: Your a True Hero sir
Serriad8: Glad to see some real statistics on this. The stats you found pretty much backed up my assumption of how low the chance of truly "bricking" an item in terms of it being worse or even unusable. Seems like, on average sanctifaction is "do nothing" to generally good.
c-tothefourth4879: It’s a great system. The amount of people crying is one of the main reasons why this game is held back.
Malacite: Aww so Sanctification is just for the season ?!
No way, this should be permanent. We need MORE stuff like this in the game so there's actually things to do. I can't help remember, I think it was on one of the mythics from VoH that specifically mentioned Angels as a possible enemy.
This got me hoping that they gonna finally start acting on that, that Angels are finally getting involved in D4 more directly...
Oh and do you know if an aspect is added on a 2 handed weapon through Sanctification, is it still 2x ?
LexRuthless-p6l: Thank you for explaining everything so clearly. The examples you showed were particularly useful. What I did not understand until I watched the video was how big a nerf the new masterworking system is compared to what we have in Season 10. It wasn't the topic of this video, but you broke it down concisely in a couple of sentences. Well done.
I was under the impression we got one masterwork crit instead of three, but we would get to choose where it landed. This would be accompanied by 20 smaller upgrades. I didn't understand that those smaller upgrades had no effect on any of the affixes on the gear.
That removes the frustration of having to masterwork over and over again to get the desired result, but I think a lot of people are going to be upset at the overall drop-off in character power.
Comalv: I commend you for the great and thorough work you always put in. Not gonna lie, I was quite happy with the speed of season progression of the past 2 seasons where you could level from 1 to 220ish Paragon Points, get full gear wtih 1 GA, get Glyphs to 46, and complete the season stuff (new mechanic/reputation/journey/battlepass) in 20-30 hours. This sanctification seems to put a lot of grind back in the game, maybe not to the level of Season 1 (and thankfully not to the absurdity that was pre-season). I will have to see how it actually feels to play this, but I just wish Blizzard would settle on a target for how fast progression should feel like, and then just add flavor stuff for people who want to play every day of the season (Paragon 300, the tower, etc.)
DirtyDevil6G6: Thank you for the indepth explanation of this. Appreciated!
bobmm2025: great evaluation! loved all the data you collected!
ZaphodBx: Great video - thanks for putting in all that work! It definitely makes me think I'll be more willing to try sanctifying items than I initially thought I would be.
